Sunday Dinner

Well, the herd was hungry and as usual, looked upon me for guidance. They wanted chicken. hmmm...I had a delema..one of the herd is on a diet, one is a vegeterian (I thought we was Baptist!) and the other two don't care. So, I fixed chicken the only way I know how.........

That's right, I FRIED it! HA! Kenny and those FEW of you who I know that just don't understand this...Chickens BEG to be fried and I was more than happy to ease it on in my frying pan!

Then, came the gravy....OH yeah....Dad taught me how to make gravy a long time ago...

Now you can't have fried chicken and gravy without mashed taters..........

AND apple pie!I forgot to mash the sides of the pie down! OOPS!!

AND here we are...Kenny, I wish you were here to enjoy this southern dinner...the flowers you see were sent to Ashley yesterday from her boyfriend, Michael, who is in Iraq.

The Twins

Well, the Twins, Mike and Britt, had to go work at some high society function at Furman today and they had to be dressed up..l.alike haaaaaaaaaaaaaa...as you can see, Britt wasn't thrilled with the duds, but was a good sport..........

Well...since this seems to be a Britt posting...here is a great pic of her I didn't even see before in my extensive, yet impressive photo collection...hee hee..Britt is taking a nurse assistant class at school and this was taken while in class there. I will speak to her later about taking pics while in class! hee

And here is a picture of Britt and "her" dog Cujo. He really is sweet, but no one believes me!

That's it for now!!!!

Day trip to Helen Georgia

For those of ya'll who don't live around here, it's supposed to be peak week for the fall leaves. So, we (minus Ashley who had to work), decided to drive to the mountains. I had thought to head NORTH to Hendersonville, but Mike thought we'd go to Helen Georgia. hmmm...whatever.
So, after he hauled everyone out of bed early, we loaded up and headed SOUTH to Georgia. The leave weren't quite changing yet, as I thought they wouldn't be in Georgia, but I didn't say anything.
Our first stop as usual, was McDonald's. I wanted the girls to stand under the McDonald's sign, but you see that didn't happen!

We were driving up there and passed by this thing.....a Gazebo in the middle of a cow pasture! Why is it there? I am assuming the fence is to keep the cows out of the gazebo. Very Wierd.

Here the girls are posing by a fountain. I bribed them with fudge to stand there and look sweet.

Here they are by ANOTHER gazebo, but this one ain't in the middle of a cow pasture. It's right in the middle of the town. Very wierd. Posted by Picasa

We then stopped on our return home at an apple stand, where I had another photo op! Here is Mike NOT excited my my photo op. Oh well.

AND yes, I spotted this wagon in there with pumpkins...my girls love me! hee hee

SO, that was the end of our day today. Short and sweet. I still want to go to Hendersonville...maybe in a couple of weeks when the leaves have changed a little more! That's Hendersonville NORTH CAROLINA, not GEORGIA.

The Lords Day

Well, I have been banished forever to the back burner in my family. My parents announced to me that they were getting Chanda baptised this past Sunday. I had to work...YESSSSSSSS. So anyways, after receiving the phone call, I hung up and had to think for awhile. Chanda, the dog, was getting baptised. Hmmmm. I didn't, nor do I now know, what I'm supposed to think!
I think about what was in the Bible about that, and I don't know! Then I think about all the paintings I've seen..you know, the religious ones with animals in it, and I don't reckon I ever saw a dog in the paintings...I can remember seeing Lions and Sheep...even Elvis sang a song about it...and he sang a song about a dog too, a hound dog! But that's a totally different thing.
SOOO, I'm right back to where I started. I don't know what to think. Mom said Chanda will beat them to Heaven. Maybe, but that's because she'll get a head start!
OH well...I don't feel like thinking about it anymore. This is my day off, and I don't wish to think!
Dad said there were 4 dogs, 2 cats and a stuffed animal there. NO, I don't want to think about THAT either!!!

Sept/October

We went to Charlotte last night for Courtney to sing at an audition for an opportunity to sing at a music show to be held later next year...
Here is Court singing part of a song, "Help Me Make it Thru the Night"-

After she sang that song, she was able to do another song

She did a GREAT job!

Sept/Oct. ctd.

Here are pics that were taken at our Mauldin Festival held annually in Sept. Britt and Court mostly checked out guys and handbags. The handbag Courtney is wearing was one of her birthday presents...I think I added that pic in an earlier post. Ashley was busy working, as usual. The Mauldin Police Dept. had their own booth set up at the festival, manned by Ashley and some police officers. It was rather warm, so she had it made in the shade!!

Then came the HIGHLIGHT of the day....ELVIS PRESLEY! YEAH BABY! You KNOW I was happy! He was very good and even thru out scarves, WHICH I didn't get one due to legions of screaming women...ONE of which was with me. I was like SOOO embarrased by the screaming...most of which wasn't ME!

I was all ready to get my hug...trying to hand my camera off to my DAUGHTER, who was too mortified at the approaching Elvis to hang around, when my MOTHER-IN-LAW PUSHES past my and FLINGS herself into his arms. Just like that it was over. I took a picture so you all could see the shame. I am still upset.
