Here are pics that were taken at our Mauldin Festival held annually in Sept. Britt and Court mostly checked out guys and handbags. The handbag Courtney is wearing was one of her birthday presents...I think I added that pic in an earlier post. Ashley was busy working, as usual. The Mauldin Police Dept. had their own booth set up at the festival, manned by Ashley and some police officers. It was rather warm, so she had it made in the shade!!
Then came the HIGHLIGHT of the day....ELVIS PRESLEY! YEAH BABY! You KNOW I was happy! He was very good and even thru out scarves, WHICH I didn't get one due to legions of screaming women...ONE of which was with me. I was like SOOO embarrased by the screaming...most of which wasn't ME!
I was all ready to get my hug...trying to hand my camera off to my DAUGHTER, who was too mortified at the approaching Elvis to hang around, when my MOTHER-IN-LAW PUSHES past my and FLINGS herself into his arms. Just like that it was over. I took a picture so you all could see the shame. I am still upset.

Joan, you surely have a way with words. Why don't you tell how it really happened? You were the excited one, over seeing this "Elvis". You were pushing and shoving people out of your way, just to get closer and hoping to get a scarf. I was calmly waiting my turn for a hug, when I saw you coming. You had fire in your eyes and Nikes' on your feet, and I knew you were gonna try & get in front of me. So, at the opportune time, I gingerly put out my foot & tripped you. You hit the ground with a mighty thud and went sprawling, with your camera, purse, phone, Nikes and other belongings, flying through the air. Courtney picked the camera up just as "Elvis" walked over to give me my hug, and snapped us. By the time you managed to pick yourself up off the ground, with your red-flushed face and wounded pride, "Elvis had "left the building".
