Somewhere near Chattanooga, TN

We went to Chattanooga, TN yesterday to a festival somewhere in the mountains on a lake! Courtney sang and of COURSE I HAD to capture the moment!
I had forgotten how many shades of orange and red there are, but was reminded yesterday

Courtney and Mike's Mom sang one of my most favorite songs as a duet. I only recorded part of the song due to technical difficulties..........

Here is a great picture of Britt and Court together NOT arguing! hee hee

Here is a video of Courtney singing alot of people's fave song, "I Call it Home". It's a great gospel song.Courtney singing away! We had the best time....

Somewhere near Chattanooga, TN ctd..

Here is a few more pictures taken yesterday...........
This is Deanna and Mike's Grandma Terry. As you can see, we sat on hay bales! VERY comfortable.
This was an AMAZING picture I took of Mike's parents and Grandma! I have no clue what they were doing!!!!!!

Halloween...........

Another Halloween has come and gone. The girls went their own ways...Britt and Ashley went to Michael's mama's house to pass out candy. We don't get trick or treaters! I think on our street, the houses are so far apart and there aren't any children, that we just don't get any! I did run by Michael's mama's house and take a pic of the girls passing out candy...you KNOW I can't pass up a photo op! Although, when I pulled up in their drive way, and the girls saw me with my CAMERA, this look of total horror and disbelief did cross their faces, briefly, to be replaced with "MOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM, oh GEEEEEEEEEZE!" HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I love it! a

I didn't post anything back when Dee and Robin brought their new baby up to see us! I just saw the pictures and I apologize. Dee is Mike's cousin, for those in my family who don't know, and he and his wife had a baby in Sept. His name is Judd Dalton Terry. yup. He is beautiful!

Here is Robin with little Judd.......

Here is a pic of Mike's grandma, Dee, his sister, Dawn and their mother Gin, from California.

Well, I'm off to the hospital now...but NOT to work. I am off to sit with Dad while Mom has a procedure done. WHAT procedure you ask? hee hee I'll give you a hint. She had to drink alot of medicine last night and sat on the commode all night! hee hee She has to have a colonoscopy this morning! AHHHH HAAAA....no, actually, I am very proud of her AND dad for doing this preventative maintainence. It's very important that everyone gets one over the age of 55 especially. I know Mike's family gets theirs regularly as well. yeah family!!!!

Have a great Thursday and I will post later on tonight. I have an amusing tale to tell.
OH...do you think I should take the camera this morning to capture Mom in her duress?!!!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Sunday Dinner

Well, the herd was hungry and as usual, looked upon me for guidance. They wanted chicken. hmmm...I had a delema..one of the herd is on a diet, one is a vegeterian (I thought we was Baptist!) and the other two don't care. So, I fixed chicken the only way I know how.........

That's right, I FRIED it! HA! Kenny and those FEW of you who I know that just don't understand this...Chickens BEG to be fried and I was more than happy to ease it on in my frying pan!

Then, came the gravy....OH yeah....Dad taught me how to make gravy a long time ago...

Now you can't have fried chicken and gravy without mashed taters..........

AND apple pie!I forgot to mash the sides of the pie down! OOPS!!

AND here we are...Kenny, I wish you were here to enjoy this southern dinner...the flowers you see were sent to Ashley yesterday from her boyfriend, Michael, who is in Iraq.

The Twins

Well, the Twins, Mike and Britt, had to go work at some high society function at Furman today and they had to be dressed up..l.alike haaaaaaaaaaaaaa...as you can see, Britt wasn't thrilled with the duds, but was a good sport..........

Well...since this seems to be a Britt posting...here is a great pic of her I didn't even see before in my extensive, yet impressive photo collection...hee hee..Britt is taking a nurse assistant class at school and this was taken while in class there. I will speak to her later about taking pics while in class! hee

And here is a picture of Britt and "her" dog Cujo. He really is sweet, but no one believes me!

That's it for now!!!!

Day trip to Helen Georgia

For those of ya'll who don't live around here, it's supposed to be peak week for the fall leaves. So, we (minus Ashley who had to work), decided to drive to the mountains. I had thought to head NORTH to Hendersonville, but Mike thought we'd go to Helen Georgia. hmmm...whatever.
So, after he hauled everyone out of bed early, we loaded up and headed SOUTH to Georgia. The leave weren't quite changing yet, as I thought they wouldn't be in Georgia, but I didn't say anything.
Our first stop as usual, was McDonald's. I wanted the girls to stand under the McDonald's sign, but you see that didn't happen!

We were driving up there and passed by this thing.....a Gazebo in the middle of a cow pasture! Why is it there? I am assuming the fence is to keep the cows out of the gazebo. Very Wierd.

Here the girls are posing by a fountain. I bribed them with fudge to stand there and look sweet.

Here they are by ANOTHER gazebo, but this one ain't in the middle of a cow pasture. It's right in the middle of the town. Very wierd. Posted by Picasa

We then stopped on our return home at an apple stand, where I had another photo op! Here is Mike NOT excited my my photo op. Oh well.

AND yes, I spotted this wagon in there with pumpkins...my girls love me! hee hee

SO, that was the end of our day today. Short and sweet. I still want to go to Hendersonville...maybe in a couple of weeks when the leaves have changed a little more! That's Hendersonville NORTH CAROLINA, not GEORGIA.

The Lords Day

Well, I have been banished forever to the back burner in my family. My parents announced to me that they were getting Chanda baptised this past Sunday. I had to work...YESSSSSSSS. So anyways, after receiving the phone call, I hung up and had to think for awhile. Chanda, the dog, was getting baptised. Hmmmm. I didn't, nor do I now know, what I'm supposed to think!
I think about what was in the Bible about that, and I don't know! Then I think about all the paintings I've seen..you know, the religious ones with animals in it, and I don't reckon I ever saw a dog in the paintings...I can remember seeing Lions and Sheep...even Elvis sang a song about it...and he sang a song about a dog too, a hound dog! But that's a totally different thing.
SOOO, I'm right back to where I started. I don't know what to think. Mom said Chanda will beat them to Heaven. Maybe, but that's because she'll get a head start!
OH well...I don't feel like thinking about it anymore. This is my day off, and I don't wish to think!
Dad said there were 4 dogs, 2 cats and a stuffed animal there. NO, I don't want to think about THAT either!!!

Sept/October

We went to Charlotte last night for Courtney to sing at an audition for an opportunity to sing at a music show to be held later next year...
Here is Court singing part of a song, "Help Me Make it Thru the Night"-

After she sang that song, she was able to do another song

She did a GREAT job!

Sept/Oct. ctd.

Here are pics that were taken at our Mauldin Festival held annually in Sept. Britt and Court mostly checked out guys and handbags. The handbag Courtney is wearing was one of her birthday presents...I think I added that pic in an earlier post. Ashley was busy working, as usual. The Mauldin Police Dept. had their own booth set up at the festival, manned by Ashley and some police officers. It was rather warm, so she had it made in the shade!!

Then came the HIGHLIGHT of the day....ELVIS PRESLEY! YEAH BABY! You KNOW I was happy! He was very good and even thru out scarves, WHICH I didn't get one due to legions of screaming women...ONE of which was with me. I was like SOOO embarrased by the screaming...most of which wasn't ME!

I was all ready to get my hug...trying to hand my camera off to my DAUGHTER, who was too mortified at the approaching Elvis to hang around, when my MOTHER-IN-LAW PUSHES past my and FLINGS herself into his arms. Just like that it was over. I took a picture so you all could see the shame. I am still upset.

July and August pics

Well, this blogger thing posts entries backwards, so this is the second posting today...the first being below this one!
Here are more pictures of what we have been doing... On the left is Ashley posing with the Chic-fillet cow at the Miracle league baseball game she volunteers with, with the police dept. Ashley is the one on the right.

Here we are at Guadalahara's for Courtney's birthday party. Courtney and Mike's mother sang a duet.

Dad and Mom were there, as was Donna beside Dad, then Silker. Across the table is Mike in the hat. There were alot of people there you can't see.

This is a picture of Courtney singing in Atlanta, as I explain in the entry below. Courtney sang at a Country Music Association in Georgia.

AND last for this, Courtney is acting crazy on her birthday.

AND Britt and Deanna having a great time scoping out boys!

July and August 2006

Well, I have been just terrible about posting anything lately, but I'll tell you, I usually run out of hours in the day around 7pm at night. if I wouldn't get up so early, I could run a little longer!
Here is some of what we've been doing...

Here is Britt and Ashley taken somewhere outside of Atlanta. Courtney had to sing there for the Georgia Country Music Association.

Courtney is ALWAYS happy to take a road trip...AND get to eat out!

This was taken at Ashley's 17th birthday party. For those of you that attended Gina's wedding and are so inclinded to remember what I wore, yes, this is the same dress. Shoot me. I can tell here tho, that I have lost weight.

Ashley volunteers at the Mauldin Police Department for various events, one of which being the Miracle league...handicapped kids playing on a specially made padded field for them. Mike went to cheer her on.

Gina's wedding July 29th

Gina and Fletcher were wedded in holy matrimony last Saturday and my whole herd was clean, pressed and smiling thruout the entire weekend, which had also included the rehersal and dinner. It was beautiful! Next to the bride and groom, the wedding cakes Aunt Aurelia made were breath-taking!

Dad sent me these pictures, so there aren't any of Mikes family on here, who were there also, nor any of the ceremony or rehersal dinner.

The pictures I took are in my camera in Georgia with the girls...scroll on down and you can see pictures of that! I'll get my camera back Thursday night. This is Fletcher, Gina and I'm thinking this is his mother, but I could be wrong.

Gina's bridesmaids were from L to R..I don't know, Jill, Gina, Carol (her sister) and I don't know. YES, I paid attention during the wedding process.
I wish I had my camera, because I took better pictures of these cakes. This is the only pic I have currently and DAD took it. There were 8 cakes in all, each cake a different flavor from Strawberry, Italian creme, chocolate, pound cake, Crapple (one layer Carrot and one layer and apple spice) and I'm not sure what the others were...just beautiful. Each cake had single hand made roses made of sugar individually placed to look like Gina's bouquet, which was red roses as well. The cakes were beautiful AND delicious.

My parents and the Grandkids...all smiling and beautiful!

I didn't realize till this moment that all my babies are taller than me...my whole family is! GEEeeeeze. At least the dogs aren't.

We totally don't match!

All our collective teeth were brushed!

All three girls shared one blow-dryer and one hair straightner that morning and SURVIVED.

More pictures are below...again, these are Dad's pics and I apologize for not having any of other family members, but will put the pics I took on here when I get my camera back!

Gina's Wedding

Here are more pictures of the wedding...Lauren and Alex were so grown up acting and beautiful!!!

as we all were! I couldn't believe we all were clean, pleasant and smiling ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

Mom and Dad with all the grandchildren...smiling and sweet.

They seemed extremely happy!

Keep scrolling down for more pics I added. Also, I will be adding more this weekend of the wedding and Dee's house pics....
